"In Alto Piedmont, in the local lingo of the village of Suno,“Möt” translates to ‘hill’ and “Ziflon” to ‘songbird’. There ya go. This is a blend of 85% nebbiolo, 10% vespolina and 5% uva rara. It spends just under two years in Slavonian oak barrels.

Lots of clove, lots of dark cherry, some truffle and mushroomy elements, pencil shavings and cinnamon too. That’s the perfume. Bold, in its way. The palate is sinewy with woody, clove-laced tannins, dusty and dry, but shows off more dark cherry, some sarsaparilla. truffle, undergrowth, dried herbs and woody elements to finish. It’s all about structure and texture here, tannins the hero, though it feels the wood does lead the charge here. I thought to myself, ‘this wine is full of brown scents and flavours’. It needs time to mellow and develop enough dried fruit and spice to match that oak tenure. Good, still. 92+pts."
