On The Otherside

We recently had the distinct pleasure of being the first venue in Sydney to get pour some tasty beers from Otherside brewery from Fremantle, Western Australia. These beers, the brain child of head brewer Rhys Lopez who kicked off his career clearing tables at Little Creatures, before brewing at The Monk before his dream gig at Otherside, are tasty and brewed with a simple and straight forward message: great beers made with the best ingredients, naturally preservative free.

As well as a plethora of beers from their core range we have very limited quantities of two limited release beers that won’t be seen again! This includes their Tycoon 15 Minute IPA, which was made for their “Tycoon” investors, regular punters like you or I who took the plunge to own a bit of a brewery and support our ever-growing craft scene. The beer is so named as it had a hop addition every minute for the last 15 minutes of the boil. This beer is bold and resinous, but still vibrant with tropical fruits of melon and peach.

On top of this we have a very exciting Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale, vibrant with dark fruits like dates and dried figs, big bourbon on the nose, but a soft warm finish heavy with notes of milk chocolate and subtle coffee.
