Signatory Vintage 'Unnamed Speyside' 2009 13-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Providing an incredible range of whiskies at prices that remind us of how things used to be, they almost always outperform comparative releases from the same distilleries which their spirit originally came from in both quality and price...

We are under strict instructions from Edrington to keep this "Unnamed Speyside" from Signatory Vintage under wraps. Those of you with the skills of James Bond might be able to figure it out. This secret distillery from between the towns of Aberlour and Craigellachie is well known for its powerful brand image, that can often result in core range bottlings collecting dust.  This release, however, bottled from Refill Butt DRU 17/A195 #44, is difficult not to drink.  For those longing for that classic Speyside style, this is for you.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Salted caramel, honey sweetness, dried fig and poached apples. Malted barley and lemon peel with a subtle oak spice.

Palate: Creamy vanilla and a dusting of icing sugar, apple pie and dry sherry.

Finish: Medium with dried sherry notes, soft oak spice and a hint of orchard fruits.

Signatory Vintage are one of the veterans of Independently Bottled Scotch Whisky. Founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington. The name ‘Signatory’ was derived from the initial intention to find a person of suitable standing to sign the labels for bottles drawn from a single cask.
