Decadent Drinks Whisky Sponge Edition No. 59B Pride of Sponge 1993 28-Year-Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A 28-year-old single malt from an undisclosed Highlands distillery, bottled by Decadent Drinks under their Whisky Sponge label.

This release, Edition No. 59B, was distilled in 1993, matured in a refill hogshead and was bottled in 2022 as a 28-year-old - yielded 286 bottles at 46.1% abv. 

Decadent Drinks was founded by Angus MacRaild and his business partner, Iain McClune (founder of Whisky Auctioneer). Angus is a freelance whisky writer and consultant, who regularly writes for WhiskyMag.com, ScotchWhisky.com and Whiskyfun with Serge, as well as his satirical blog, Whisky Sponge. As well as this, he works as a panel chair for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Alongside these other ventures, Angus, in his own words "take[s] whiskies, made by other people, and put[s] them into bottles with silly labels on. Turns out you can make a living doing this." The same irreverance and sense of fun found throughout the Whisky Sponge blog can be seen on many of the Whisky Sponge labels - silly labels aside, however, the juice inside is extraordinary too!
