An incredibly old bottling of Aultmore! This was distilled in May 1982, and matured in a single hogshead. Whisky from the early 80s is a rarity and this is a drop of liquid history. The Aultmore Distillery is another Speyside Distillery that until just seven years ago was rarely seen as a single malt. Its single malt has always been revered by blenders as the perfect whisky to build up a blend.

Today, the wort is clear, and fermentations are long. This, coupled with the small stills with downward lyne arms limiting reflux give the new make spirit intensity. Aultmore is said to share similar characteristics as Linkwood, fragrant on the nose, substantial on the tongue.

Official Notes:

Nose: Malty, sweet barley, orchard fruits, old fashioned marmalade, oiled oak, and a forest earthiness

Palate: Big, bold, rich and spicy. Blood oranges, woody spices; hints of clove and cinnamon. The finish is long and complex.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company have bottled most distilleries in Scotland and are increasingly expanding to include whiskies from around the world. Their limited edition labels are designed by Emily Chappell and reference interesting elements (or in-jokes) about the distillery.

Boutique-y bottle their batches, which can be single cask or a number of casks, at the strength they deem the whisky is most enjoyable at.
