“A straight Mataro from a 2005 Eastern Vineyard planting.
“Blood plum and orange zest, boysenberry, fennel and dried herbs. It’s a tight and tangy affair, light but firm, with plenty of grainy and sandy tannin, something of a honey nut character too, fresh raspberry and herbs on a lively finish of solid length. It has plenty of character, and energy too, though it’s kind of frisky. I like it, quite a lot, though it’s almost a ‘new wave’ offering from Wendouree. 94pts.”
