Tapatio is an unsung hero of the affordable, premium Tequila world. It is produced at La Altena distillery (NOM 1139) in the highlands of Arandas in Jalisco Mexico; the same distillery which contract distills for El Tesoro and Villa Lobos.
Utilising 100% Tequilana Weber agave, brick ovens, combination roller mill & tahona extraction, open-air wood fermentation with fibers, double copper pot distillation and no additives; the end result is redolent of earthy, sweet agave, pepper, citrus and plenty of minerality.
