“Organically farmed Chardonnay from Murdock Hill in Oakbank. The full 11 months in barrel on gross ferment lees. More modern clones here including a little Bernard. All hogshead (300l) for this cuvée. Sparkling pale straw colour with brilliant platinum highlights. Last pour may have a little super fine sediment. The nose is classic Chardonnay here with wonderful integration of fruit and artifact. White peach and golden apple with very attractive delicate white spice, freshly grilled nuts and wet straw. The palate is delicious too with a creamy accent thanks to the long lees aging adding all the texture and flavour you’d expect. Add in concentrated yellow skinned fruits; yellow nectarine and grapefruit with a lemon juice like purity minus the sourness. Pithy tannins add more structure. Bourgogne Blanc style.”
