Elements of Islay Beach Bonfire is a limited edition blended malt from two characterful Islay distilleries. For this whisky, our Head Blender was inspired by the image of a beach bonfire on Islay – the colours, heady smoke and collision of the flames and sand. The perfect reward following an outdoor adventure. This blended malt brings together whisky matured in New Oak, Bourbon, Refill and Sherry Casks. It is a powerful blended Islay malt with a rich herbaceous flavour, enveloped in bonfire ember smoke with a sweet spice finish.
Our guess is Laphroaig & Caol Ila based on several hints, and what we could taste during the Feis Ile tasting here in store...
Oak Barrel Tasting Notes:
Nose: Phenols, fruits, ash tray, wet seaweed... Just what you'd hope and expect.
Palate: Iodine and sultanas, cracked pepper, the faintest note of royal icing glazed fruit danish.
Finish: The bonfire arrives, warm smoke and beach vibes. Perfect for a Scottish Summer or an Australian Winter.
