Said to come from the Long Pond Distillery, so it should have been made through a continuous still. Full flavoured, no colouring, ex bourbon barrel matured and of course well aged!

In Cadenhead’s words, “Nose Summer pudding. Clean crisp green apples and grape juice. Palate Clean soft start, some sweet cookie dough, raisin and vanilla pod, ice cream cones with runny honey tones. Finish Some oak and spice mingle with pears and spice, soft white fruits and a little citrus tone.”

This is one of our favourite ways of getting into Jamaican rum. You get all that ester-y goodness, with a soft, immensely well integrated palate and finish. Divine.

Cadenhead is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, having being founded in 1842 as William Cadenhead Limited Wine & Spirit Merchants. It was family owned until it was bought by another family company J&A Mitchell & Co, owners of the Springbank and Glengyle distilleries. Whyte & Mackay-owned Jura was first built in 1810 on the island that shares its name. A chequered history of closures, dismantles and rebuilds has led to a hugely popular distillery, particularly in the UK. A cult loved distillery, they tend to be reasonably weighty whiskies with gentle smoke. We think it shines brightest currently in the hands of independent bottlers.
