The Old Bardstown label draws from Kentucky History, named after the 1950’s racehorse. The Black Label bottling is not always available, and is bottled at 90 Proof.
The Willett Distillery, sometimes known these days as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, was founded in 1936 on the family farm by Thompson Willett. The distillery became widely regarded for its quality and throughout the century introduced brands like Johnny Drum, Noah’s Mill, Rowan’s Creek, Kentucky Vintage and Pure Kentucky (all 1990s). After a prolonged stint as an independent bottler, full distillery production recommenced in 2012. Unusually for a US distillery, Willett utilises pot stills rather than column.
