“From Rocket’s Vineyard, off 25-plus year old vines. This is wild fermented and left on lees in old barrels pre its bottling and resting.
It’s not that funky, and fearless could is in the eye of the winemaker, but it is an expressive and delightful chenin, leaning deeply into the tonic water fruity-bitterness and saline elements that great chenin can deliver. Scents of sea spray, almond, green apple, tonic water, the palate delivering a more quinine-focused flavour profile with a briny acid trill and faintest green almond characters. Juicy, just a little loose knit over more precision, but pleasing, refreshing and good all up. 91pts.”
