“Single vineyard. 56 dozen only. Full malo, in barrel, on lees.
There’s certainly a lot of matchstick and associated funk on display here, particularly on the nose, but there’s also a power of fruit and texture to behold too. Indeed it’s a neat, sophisticated rendition of a powerhouse style. Peach, pineapple, citrus and bacon/woodsmoke characters burst impressively through the palate before fully prosecuting the finish. Excellent wine. Ripe/sweet fruited, smoky, savoury and flinty at once. 94 pts.”
