From Boutique-y
“Imperial’s gentle, floral, American cream soda style is well loved amongst whisky aficionados. While it has not reached the cult status of Brora or Port Ellen, its reputation continues to grow. Sadly, there isn’t much stock left.
This single ex-Bourbon barrel was laid down in March 1998, the year the distillery was mothballed for the last time.”
Official Tasting Notes:
Nose: Initial bright and zesty notes of citrus, turns waxy. Sweet vanilla, a delicate honey sweetness, and a light oak influence, with hints of gentle spice. Lovely!
Palate: A full-bodied and creamy texture. Hints of dried tropical fruit; papaya, pineapple and mango. Its sweetness evolves into rich toffee and caramel flavours with a touch of oak spices, adding complexity.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company, now 10 years old, have bottled spirits from most distilleries in Scotland and are increasingly expanding to include whiskies, rums, brandies and more from around the world. Their limited edition labels reference interesting elements (or in-jokes) about the distilleries they celebrate. Boutique-y bottle their batches, which can be single cask or a number of casks, at the strength they deem the whisky is most enjoyable at.
