Part of Plantation’s latest batch of single cask bottlings, this 2009 Vintage Beenleigh was aged 11 years in bourbon casks, before a year of continental aging in Ferrand casks and a 4 month finish in ex-Palo Cortado barrels.  Palo Cortado is widely renowned as one of the most esquisite finishes for any spirit, the highly developed style of sherry making for a decadent and complex mouthfeel and finish.
This single barrel has returned to Australia as a regional exclusive.

Beenleigh is one of Australia’s most well respected spirit producers. Starting production in 1885 in Eagleby, Queensland, the distillery holds Australian Distilling license #1. Beenleigh is responsible for both its own and the Inner Circle brands of rum, and often finds its way into some incredible independent bottlings.
In 1989 the Maison Ferrand cognac house was taken over by Alexandre Gabriel, who planned to return one of the region’s oldest spirit brands to the height of its powers. Starting with cognac and then moving into other fine spirits, Gabriel scoured the Caribbean throughout the 1990s in source of rum. From those trips the Plantation brand was born. Rums are transferred to France, where they undergo final maturations in a variety of casks.Â
