A delicious, very easily consumed vermouth from the team at cult-loved Spanish winery Partida Creus.
MUZ is produced from Certified Organic grapes, the base is a blend of young red wine, aged red wine and oxidative white wine.
It’s difficult to get details from Massimo on the aromatics, but the little that we have deciphered is that it’s a mixture of 51 botanicals (including citrus skins, flowers, oriental spices, roots and herbs) that macerate in the alcohol for two lunar moons.
The botanicals come from a herbalist in Torino who’s great grandfather prepared the recipe in 1870.
Our love for vermouths has grown in recent years, largely thanks to increased variety of both local and imported offerings. In 2020 the Australian allocation for MUZ is larger than prior shipments (although still quite limited) so we’re able to shout about it a bit more.
Excellent depth of flavour and complexity, absolutely suited to drinking on its own or over ice, the bright citrus peel nose lends itself very well to the classic vermouth cocktails.
