“Is there a cellar owned by any Australian winelover which is not well represented with Coonawarra Cabernet? Hard to imagine. And the reason is obvious – it can be such an impressive wine. This is certainly one of the very best, and deservedly part of the Legends series. Inky magenta in colour. The nose is immediately Coonawarra Cabernet at its finest, glorious stuff. Plums, dry herbs, mulberries, tobacco leaves, chocolate and a hint of mint. Well structured, though perhaps a little more plush than we have a right to expect with Cabernet. There is complexity here, great concentration and fine balance plus silky tannins on a wine of serious length. It will give twenty years of pleasure. You’ve probably guessed I like this a great deal. 96pts.”
