A powerful 10-year-old single malt from the Ardmore distilledy, bottled by Liquid Treasures.
Distilled 2009 and bottled 2020 from an ex-bourbon barrel. Just 102 bottles at 61.4%.
Thanks to the experts at Independent Whisky Company for these tasting notes:
Nose: Coal briquettes and sour dough bread. Aromatic wood smoke as is to be expected from Ardmore. Beautiful cereal note, not often found in modern drams.
Palate: Drinks just fine at 61% with a chewy grain character backed up a decent amount of peat. A good half way point to an Islay malt. With water, the smokiness increases and makes for a well rounded experience from sour dough to a dark crusty loaf. The perfect dram for round the fire.
Finish: Ash and charcoal remain on the palate long after the sweetness departs. Bitumen and mint and hot milk on cereal.
