“A blend of D4V2 from our leased site in Ironbank and 114 and 115 from high up at Ashton. A very small amount of whole bunch with fairly vigorous ferments to blow off the reduction characteristic of the vintage. Aged in used hogsheads for 10 months.
Medium density soft cherry red, the Ashton component significantly lightening the colour. Fairly savoury aromatic profile with moderate concentration of darker fruits and lots of earth and spice. As it warms more and more dark rose perfume comes up. The palate is fairly rich with a great all around texture and a well blended mix of darker and red fruit elements but the fresh acidity highlights the finer fruit and spice notes towards the finish. Tannins are present to support the richness. This will please nicely for the price!”
