“It’s hard not to say Sorrenberg when introducing the Juliard wines albeit this is a singular, family project involving one of the second-gen Moreys. Sourced from a single site, matured in larger formal, old and new wood.
“It has the regional overlay of fragrant, white pepper and sweet spice, minerally acidity and a good deal of fine, rocky tannin woven through. Faint game meat, ripe and fresh red berry fruits jostling, a faint mintiness in the mix and this pleasing swish and slosh to it all. Medium weight, even, long and all brushed velvet in texture. Lovely stuff here. Any one remember the Havelock Hill Shiraz from Sorrenberg? Projecting perhaps, but some of that beautiful DNA here. A worthy addition to the shiraz realm of Beechworth. Drink now, cellar some. 93pts.”

“Our shiraz was fermented on skins for 3 weeks with 30% whole bunch fermentation. It has been matured for 18 months in a combination of large format old oak and new barriques. On the nose subtle white pepper and spiced plum, An elegant palate that is well balanced and has lovely refined tannins will reward you with great length.”
