A Single Cask, Blended Malt from the ever elusive Campbeltown region of Scotland. We have our hunches about what distillery composes the majority of this whisky, which we tried on the 31st of July at our Duncan Taylor tasting, but the room was split on the night! A soft peat influence and chewy texture makes this a fun whisky regardless of which spirit may or may not be in the bottle!
Nose: Vanilla fudge, fresh lychee, sweet kelp, soft coastal notes.
Palate: Salted toffee popcorn, flambéed strawberries with green peppercorns, undertones of peat and lightly charred oak.
Finish: Sweet oak, juicy summer fruits, lightly pepper and whisps of smoke.
Starting as a cask broker in 1938, Duncan Taylor & Co, originally of Glasgow, has seen well over 80 years of whisky, eventually joining the Independent Bottler scene around 2014. This wonderful bottler has been somewhat under represented in the Australian scene for a while now, but now has a regular importer through the team at The Whisky List
