“Naturé” is the old school name of Savagnin. This wine is from a single vineyard called Pré Levront just below Corvées. The vines are 20 years old, but a small part was planted by Francoise’s great-grandfather over 100 years ago. Soil is blue and gray marl and all grapes are harvested and sorted in the vineyard by hand. Slow horizontal hydraulic press into stainless for wild fermentation. Upbringing in old oak barrels from Meursault and bottled the following year without filtration and very little sulphur.
Pear, lemon and quite herbal. Quite reductive struck match and needs some time and a decant to show at it’s best. Pithy and textural on the palate with plenty of acid cut and juicy finish.
