Domaine des Cognettes is a family wine property for 6 generations, in 1990, Stéphane and Vincent took over their parents’ vineyard.Â
‘We cultivated grapevines in orientation at organic farming since the year 2009. The organic farming is therefore a logical extension of our philosophy; our goal is to provide our vines in best conditions of life and in a healthy environment to preserve the authenticity of our wines. It is also a choice for the health of all. We made this choice per conviction; it’s a real logical suite of our philosophy and beautiful story. Our vineyard work is to respect the biodiversity, respect our vines, our soil and our terroir. We want wines to natural taste, unique wines and the best possible. Wines produced without risk of our health.’
The Domaine des Cognettes is on a rich soil made of eruptive and metamorphic rocks, over a layer of sand, pebbles and clay lying on granite and gabbro. Very close to the Atlantic Ocean, our vineyard enjoys a temperate climate. Regular rain brings the water the vines need, the wind dries out the excess of humidity and the mildness of the summer sun does the rest.

100% Melon de Bourgogne. Maceration of 5-6 weeks. Aged 12 months in 500-year old Tuscan amphora. No fining, filtration, or additions of any kind.Â
Clay helps the slow oxygenation of wine while preserving its aromas. Intense golden color. The nose offers notes of candied and milky lemon. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and marked by light bitters which brings complexity and a nice balance to finish on a nice freshness.
