Love Me Tender was inspired by the iconic sandwich order of the King of Rock and Roll himself: The Elvis Sandwich, topped with peanut butter, banana, and bacon. This indulgent imperial stout was aged in bourbon barrels then treated with peanuts, banana, and natural bacon flavor for a tasty treat, Black Tuesday style.
Based on The Bruery’s high-abv BA Imperial Stout, Black Tuesday. Black Tuesday is one of our favorite beers to play with adjuncts with. Next up in this year’s Small Batch Black Tuesday treatment series, crafted exclusively for our Society members, is Love Me Tender, inspired by the King of Rock and Roll’s favorite sandwich: The Elvis. This iteration of Black Tuesday was treated with loads of peanuts, bananas, and a light dosing of bacon. Pouring a dark brown color with little to no head, the nose is classic Black Tuesday all the way. Notes of brown sugar, bourbon, and molasses are supplemented by a hefty wafting of peanuts. We think we nailed the concept on this one— roasty peanut butter flavors open up on the palate, with a subtle sweetness from the addition of banana, and a light hint of saltiness and smoke from the bacon.
