A 4-year-old rye whisky from a secret Tennessee distillery, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
This is Batch 3 that indie bottlers, Boutique-y, have sourced from this undisclosed distillery; part of their Rye Series MMXX, bottled at 45% with 331 bottles in the run.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Bananas, rye bread, menthol mint, vanilla
Palate: Ginger and cinnamon, a little white pepper and a soft methanol note. Stewed fruits and chocolate become evident along with a little orange peel, pineapple and a delicate ripe banana note manages to surface.
Finish: A medium finish, with vanilla and oak from the barrel, warming with wood spice.
From Boutique-y:
“That Rick is a good guy indeed. He’s helped quite a few people through quite a tough situation, and look at him now – Rick’s putting out a rick made of sugar maple! Wonder what you could do with all the charcoal from that sugar maple… Anyway, we’ve bottled a Tennessee bourbon whisky from an undisclosed distillery. Surely all those words we said before that sentence couldn’t have anything to do with this whisky. Sorry for being off-topic.”
