‘Serra da Estrela – from vineyards 50 to 100 years old. Made from a field blend of Jaen, Baga, Tinta Amarela and 20 other native grape varieties.
Dates, spice, violet, black fruit – a bit like a spicy fruit roll. Medium-bodied, chalky feel to the tannin, open-knit and pleasantly chompy, fresh and lively, despite the darker flavours, raspberry and spiced blood plum bob up on a long bright finish. A delightful and different red. Recommended.’ – 94 points. Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
