The 2016 William Larue Weller release, part of Buffalo Trace’s lauded Antique Collection series.
This was the first release after Jim Murray’s 2016 Whisky Bible named the WLW the ‘Bourbon Of The Year’. A wheated bourbon, this is a 12-year-old distilled in 2003 and released in America’s Fall 2016.
It is released at 135.2 proof, 67.7%, the highest ABV of recent releases.
Very small allocation into Australia initially, very last bottles we’ll see of this archive release. The Antique Collection series of whiskies are some of the most sought after whiskies in the world, let alone bourbons.
