Glen Elgin is a workhorse distillery from the Diageo stable, much of what they produce is reserved for a number of blends for which it is a main ingredient of. The distillery has worm tubs but a long fermentation (80 to 120 hours) and a slow distillation give the distillery a fruity new make with honey and tangerine flavours.
The Whisky Age is a Taiwanese independent bottler, which was founded, in a nascent form, in 2014 by Rex Weng. Initially the group sold whisky gelato, however, the company has evolved since then to become a thriving (albeit small) independent bottler. In 2018 they began bottling whisky under the label The Whisky Blues and in 2021 they began releasing whisky under the self-named label, The Whisky Age. These whiskies are brought into Australia by the team behind one of The Oak Barrel's favourite Melbourne bars, The Elysian Whisky Bar.
