An 100 percent straight rye whiskey distilled in Brunswick, Victoria.
The rye is sourced from the dry Mallee region and with a full-rye mashbill, this is a whisky that showcases the grain in all its glory. Double distilled and aged for at least two year in virgin American oak barrel barrels, this is from the team behind Melbourne Moonshine.
Bottled at 45% the nose is big, and it is classic rye. "Rye bread" is an almost universal tasting note here, but there's also caramel, dry earth, dusty books, hint of vanilla, clove. The palate has baking spice, sweet oak and hard caramel.
A powerful whiskey, with a great structure. And a great price.
