A 'Project Release' from Melbourne's Gospel Rye, this has been finished in ex-tawny cask.
After the whisky had matured for two years in the vibrant Melbourne climate it spent four months in the ex-tawny casks. Those casks were sourced from Dutschke Wines in the Yarra Valley. It had held tawny for nine years and was no re-coopered before being delivered to Melbourne.
Just 558 bottles, 45% at 700ml, and allocations are limited.
"This short resting period in such fresh barrels results in a deliciously well-balanced whiskey that envelopes the spice of The Gospel Straight Rye with the rich sweetness of the Tawny.
"You'll be greeted by huge biscuity flavours, soft vanilla, stewed fruits and rich baking spices. It's a perfect Christmas sipper or stocking stuffer we think."
