The long history of love, collaboration and great drinks between The Oak Barrel and Starward has continued in 2020, even if our reciprocal visits have been cut down by travel bans and border closures.
However, it does mean that we’re almost about to say goodbye to a calendar year, without having a Starward-dedicated tasting event. We can’t let the year pass by without one, so Tuesday 1 December we’ll be hosting a virtual tasting event with people from the distillery in Melbourne and whisky lovers from all around Australia.
What better excuse for such an event than our brand-new single barrel? The third Oak Barrel exclusive collaboration with Starward, it is a celebration of the Australian whisky, the distillery and the people who work in it.
As well as that new single cask, we’ll be dipping into the archives to grab a couple of the remaining bottles of the ‘Reverse Double’, our Oak Barrel Sydney Whisky Fair 2015 bottling. It’ll be the first time we’ve showcase that release since 2016.
Adding to that the brand new Fortis 50% core range expression, as well as Solera, Nova and (Oak Barrel 2018 Whisky Of The Year) Two-Fold, and this is a pretty good night in on the couch.
What The Tasting Packs Contain:
HOW THE EVENT WILL WORK
This is a virtual tasting and discussion, with tasting packs to be sent out around Australia. Packs will be dispatched from Monday 23 November November. Please order prior to that date to ensure delivery in time for the tasting.
The packs - put together by our friends at Nip Of Courage - will include the whisky samples. All you need at home is a glass (or four) to pour them into. Head here if you need more glassware.
