You may have seen us propped up at the bar on the odd occasion in the past few years and now The Oak Barrel is excited to partner with one of Sydney's best small bars - Burrow Bar - for a virtual tasting exploring the world of Amari.
An event focused on amaro has been a regular request from customers in recent years, but we just haven't found a time in the schedule to fit it in. Now thanks to the world class team at Burrow and their Spirit To Glass series, we're able to offer an in-depth tasting that will not only explore the history and production of these unique spirits but also display the 'perfect serve' when it comes to cocktail making.
Throughout the lockdown period Burrow Bar have been hosting a number of cocktail classes and we're very excited to now help them offer access to audiences all around Australia.
Burrow's Head Bartenders and Co-Owners Bryce McDonough and Chau Tran will be joined by Oak Barrel's Scott Fitzsimons to get you stuck into the Amaro category. We'll also have a range of friends and and special guests from Jaegermiester, Zucca, Averna and Australia's own Never Never distillery.
As well as a sample of each of these Amaros, the team at Burrow Bar are putting together packs with mixers, garnishes and other ingredients to help you make the cocktails at home as well.
What We’ll Be Tasting
Amaros from Never Never (Australia), Jagermeister (Germany), Averna (Italy) and Zucca (Italy).
Plus these amari in the "perfect serve" cocktail form.
How The Tasting Will Work
Tickets are being sold through both The Oak Barrel and Burrow Bar websites and we'll begin sending out packs ASAP.
Then at 7pm on Monday 13 July we'll go live via a Zoom chat, as well as Facebook and YouTube to explore the drinks. Attendees will be sent the Zoom link on the day.
