The latest Single Barrel expression of Willett available for Australia. This one is a 12-year-old single barrel bourbon from Willett’s highly sought after Family Estate label. Barrel No. 2148 was selected exclusively for the Australian market by Cerbaco – it yielded just 114 bottles at 60.0% abv.
Tasting Notes: Unfortunately we have yet to try this product and Willett’s stance on tasting notes is, “we do not provide tasting notes. We would like consumers to enjoy the liquid in the way they wish.”
The Willett Distillery, sometimes known these days as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, was founded in 1936 on the family farm by Thompson Willett. The distillery became widely regarded for its quality and throughout the century introduced brands like Johnny Drum (1960s), Noah’s Mill, Rowan’s Creek, Kentucky Vintage and Pure Kentucky (all 1990s). The Family Estate series was introduced in 2008 as a chance to showcase exemplary whiskies, often in single casks.
