This Robusto 8 Year Old Cigar Malt blended malt scotch whisky was expertly blended by Keith Bonnington to create a bold and rich whisky to perfectly accompany Arabica coffee, high percentage dark chocolate or the highest quality cigar.
As someone with Asthma, I dont personally have much experience with cigars, but this dram has the oomph behind it to pair nicely with something dark and strong, such as a Padron 1926 Series No. 35 Maduro or a Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal.
The long finish in ex-sherry casks has crafted a whisky that is intense and bold, with flavours of dried fruits, ground coffee, rich dark toffee, orange zest, cake spices and a touch of peat smoke.
Bottled at cask strength of 52.5% ABV.
The Whisky Cellar was founded by Keith Bonnington, a Keeper Of The Quaich, and is based out of Edinburgh. Before branching out on his own, Bonnington spend almost two decades in the Scotch industry with 11 years at Edrington working with Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes. Bottling single casks batch by batch, they pull from a wide variety of well known distilleries, with a style that leans toward the richer side.
