“Aparte Bonaprt3 uses minimal intervention techniques and fine-tuned in the cellar to obtain the best possible expression of the terroir. A pure respect for the fruit, combining aromas and structure in a well-balanced balance. This conveys an old-world impression, with a natural mentality.
Nose: Blueberries and plums clashing with spicy touches and hints of pepper in a balsamic attire.
Palate: Medium body, well-balanced tannins with fresh acidity and a long aftertaste.
2020 was an odd year. Reasonable rainfall in the first half of the year with spring reaching higher temperatures than usual. Everything predicted that it would be a year of great maturation. However, after veraison, the days got colder and the weather more fickle. Regions like Dão were harvested earlier but Lisbon got delayed. It was even harder to achieve finest quality possible.
Grapes harvested by hand to 16 kg boxes. Foot treading for 2 hours and skin contact for 7 days with
Indigenous yeasts fermentation. Racked to oak barrels where it finishes alcoholic fermentation and malolactic. Blended 1 month before bottling, unfiltered and 45 mg total Sulphur added.”
