“Planted in 1867. 3,660 bottles produced. I liked this wine so much, that I put it into a Burgundy/Nebbiolo glass to finish tasting. This is probably the *best* wine from the 2021 Tyrrell’s red releases, though of course, 4A is probably the wine that wins my heart. No change there. Blackberry, boysenberry, black tea, a little pepper, hazelnut and baking spice, dark chocolate, aromatic with a dab of amaro herb. Medium-bodied, a little brick dust tannin, quite firm, a bit like a young Barolo! or so I think. Well, well, well. Such personality and interest. Packed with flavour, though kind of light in frame, and the length and reach of fine dusty tannin is quite something. A rare bird. A light touch here, and the translucency and quiet charm of the 2021 rides high. Very bloody good. 96pts,”
