Introducing a Thomson Australian Exclusive bottling, launched at the Sydney Whisky Fair 2025.
This bottling was picked from an experimental French Oak Port Cask, that we got to try partway through 2025.
Filled 19/12/2019 into an ex-Bourbon cask, the spirit was transferred on the 7/3/2024 and aged for a year and a half in a Port Cask. Bottled 21/8/2025
Made from 100% NZ Grown and malted barley, distilled in the Thomson copper pot stills. This unique release boasts rich flavours of fig, golden syrup, clove and ripe stone fruit.
Bottled at 51.6% abv.
Thomson Whisky began as a small project in 2009, bottling New Zealand whisky from the defunct, industrial distillery Willowbank, before blossoming into full scale production by 2014. Since then, Thomson Whisky has been producing some of New Zealands best spirits, taking Gold medals in spirits competitions around the world. At the helm is Mathew Thomson, long time home-distiller and malt experimenter, responsible for pioneering the unique Manuka smoked malts the distillery is so well known for.
