The Lakes Whisky Maker’s series are special-edition single malts that allow for exploration into different styles of casks, maturation and blending decisions. Each release is unique, often diverging from the house style.
The ‘Resfeber’ Edition employs the use of red wine barriques, and perhaps more interestingly.. Cream Sherry casks! A lesser used style of sherry cask, that here at the Oak Barrel we find to be one of our favourites. Often less tannic and dark than Oloroso or PX, it provides an incredible aromatic profile, with just a hint of that richness.
Tasting Notes:
Nose:Â A vibrant aroma of ripe green apples, stewed plums, brandy soaked raisins, sticky date pudding and baking spices.
Palate: Dark ripe fruits, figs, dates, black cherries, black apples. There’s treacle toffee and more baking spices.
Finish:Â Medium to long, creamy sherry and more treacle toffee, red fruits and currants.
