A small batch of eight ex-bourbon hogsheads from Linkwood distillery was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2010 and aged for more than 10 years. This is a fresh and fruity whisky, with hints of caramel and spice.
Region: Speyside
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Juicy slices of honeydew melon provides a light, soft start and is brightened up by zingy Granny Smith apples. Freshly cut grass and the essence of jasmine blossoms creates a heady feel of summer and is then rounded out by butter candies and fruity barley sugars.
Taste: The palate spices up from the nose, with notes of glacé ginger, pepper and baking spice folded through creamy caramel. The fruit continues – melon and orchard fruits – and cuts through the sweet gingery spice.
Finish: You are left reminiscing of summers past – citrus star ts to shine through at the end, with the melon and blossom remaining on your palate for a lovely long finish.
