On the nose, deep and plush, lots of cassis, bramble, sweet spices, earthy tannins, little hint of umami and black licorice, enticing and lingering with soft, subtle spice.
On the palate, it’s silky and smooth, with plush dark fruits, think black cherry, bramble, fruit liqueur, as well as soft tannins and a medium spice of cinammon and cardamom running through it. The length is just long enough but provides great moreish character, then there’s the savoury, mushroom notes on the tannin finish that round it all out.
Joe’s favourite of the lot, and it feels like a wine double the price! Check out our video tasting notes below
