It has scents of fresh lime, white flowers, with an oyster shell minerality followed by citrus flavours and a subtle chariness due to seeing 40% new French and Austrian oak. The style of fruit from Lenswood provides a beautiful contrast to the tight and linear nature of the fruit from Piccadilly.”

“Lots of Lenswood fruit, “there’s a gracefulness to the fruit from there”, offers winemaker Michael Downer. Puncheons mostly, some barrique. Supple, flowing and gentle expression here. Woody spices, cinnamon over lime and ripe apple, some green melon, lime. Quite a bit of flint and warm slate minerality in the wine. Concentrated, but also finishes mighty fresh and tense, with a trickle of briny minerality. Quite a bit of seasoning here, and needs some time to settle in, but you can see the DNA of a fine wine to emerge. 93+pts.”
