The Port Cask Matured limited edition was aged for the full term of its maturation in ruby port casks. Casks were selected from two contrasting ages, the youngest being 6 years old.
I was lucky enough to try this (several times thanks to a few stray drivers drams..) at the distillery in Islay recently. What a delight! homemade strawberry jam, camp-stove charcuterie, and a wonderful finish that reminds me of a cold spring evening.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Red berries and figs with citrus, cinnamon and smoked paprika.
Taste: Cooked strawberries, smoked meats, sweet tobacco, and charcoal smoke.
Finish: Warming with waves of fruity sweetness and ashy smoke
Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling. Since then, they have become a well renowned distillery.
