Description

Blending offers a Master Blender a true opportunity to craft something unique. Age offers a whisky the opportunity to develop, mature and, again, become unique.

On the nose, this 1972 Blended Grain offers sweet honey, butterscotch, fudge, rum and raisin, sticky toffee pudding, natural wax and dried ginger. Years of maturation have softened, sweetened and deeply characterised this curiosity. Brown sugar, spiced, malted chocolate, bubble gum, rich fruit cake and complex dried fruit mix envelop the tastebuds. This unique blend is made from 100% grain, using vintage distilled components from 1972 before being matured in ex-bourbon barrels.

Time and craftsmanship have made this whisky completely individual. Bottled at 46%, unchill filtered and with no added colour, nothing but sophistication and experience have gone into offering you this time-piece.

Superior quality, blending and curating is in the J.G. Thomson & Co. DNA, and that continues today with the latest incarnation of the brand, launched in 2021. The launch of a 21st century small batch release of premium whisky, gin and rum, celebrates the original brand ethos and much more.

J.G. Thompson were founded in the port of Leith, now the home of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, who launched this new blending house, using predominantly old Diageo malts, in 2021, alongside small batch gins and rum.
