“Gundagai, home to the greatest chenin blanc in that part of Australia. Well made by a very talented younger gen winemaker based in the Hunter Valley. It sees a couple of days on skins.
It has a kind of kin to gris or richer riesling, slippery texture, creamy in a way, some clicks and chews in texture too too. Scents of nashi pear, ginger, lemongrass, lime curd and peach. Pretty. The palate similarly so, all that glide and slide of almost nectar-like fruit but without overdoing any sweetness or anything, faint nuttiness in tow, some nougat through mid palate also. It’s charming, come hither, medium weight to fuller weight white wine. Pleasing. 92pts.”
