The latest Hellyers Road’s Single Cask release!
Aged for 20 Years in American Oak, with a portion of that time spent finishing in Oloroso de Jerez Sherry Casks, this release, from cask 23v07c03 was premiered at the Sydney Whisky Fair this year.
On the palate, it brings the decadent, aged tannin notes Hellyers Road is praised for, along with the jammy, dense marmalade notes imparted by the spirit’s time spent in ex-Sherry oak. The intensity of this one is comfortable at 54.2%, but with just a few drops of water it melts into one of the most smooth and creamy Australian whiskies we have been lucky enough to try in recent times, with oodles of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove warming the palate, akin to a christmas spice mixture.
