“It’s a 50/50 blend and it’s all ‘fresh’ grapes here; there’s no rack drying or anything like that with this Rosso release. It was made in stainless steel and saw a short period in old oak. Capsule is black, not yellow.
It’s a juicy wine but it’s well polished and soft. Basically, it’s super drinkable. It tastes of raisins, citrus, fresh red cherries and pips. It’s both dry and grapey through the finish, and indeed it comes across as well crafted. You’d go this. 90pts.”

“A wine made for la Dolce Vita… FREEMAN ROSSO Corvina Rondinella 2022 smacks of briar and sun-ripe red berries over a savoury frame that’s invitingly light-bodied and disarmingly mellow. Attractive generous berry flavours and soft persistent tannins combine to create this seductive easy drinking red that isn’t intended for cellaring. Can also be served lightly chilled.
FREEMAN Rosso 2022 is a blend of the two northern Italian origin varieties classically used to make two popular red wines – Bardolino (Lake Garda) and Valpolicella (Verona).
Unlike the flagship FREEMAN Secco that relies on the addition of dried grapes to the fermentation, this savoury red blend is crafted solely from freshly harvested Corvina and Rondinella. After pressing, the individual varietal parcels are fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly in old oak barrels before blending to create a plush easy sipping ‘drink now’ style.”
