Davide Bentivegna, farms a selection on tiny vineyards dotted around the north eastern
slopes of Mt Etna, form 600m to 900m altitude. All of Davides vines are close-planted on
volcanic soils at around 10,000 vines per hectare, and are farmed biodynamically. With
access to some pre phylloxera vines around 150 years old, and with a focus on high
altitude, light extraction, Davide makes some of the most incredible wines produced on
Mt Etna.
Smokey, red plums, mineral finish.Grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeast in
stainless steel tanks. Aged for 6 months in chestnut barrels, and then in concrete for 1
year. Bottled with minimal sulphites.
