“It’s snappy and tart, refreshing and pure, yet a quiet undercurrent of nutty, oatmeal and sourdough savouriness builds quietly under green apple, pink grapefruit and lime. Energetic wine, crystalline in texture with a haze of gentle, talc-like minerality to finish and veins of saline and brine shot through it all. I like the wine even more half an hour after opening and as it came up in temp a little (not warm of course!). It has dimensions and tension and vibrancy on its side. Delicious, is the motif. Top flight Adelaide Hills chard. 94pts.”

“The Commune of Buttons Chardonnay in 2023 was harvested from parcels of fruit on the north and east facing aspects of the ABC and Clover vineyards respectively. The hand harvested grapes were gently whole bunch pressed, the juice then settled in tank for 12 hours before being racked into 600L French demi-muid barrels where fermentation took place. Elevage was for 11 months. The wine has white fruits pears and peaches with a vein of citrus, it is concentrated and clipped with a chiseled minerality.”
