Wine Makers: Joshua Mason & Angus Wardlaw (Brothers at War)
“Taken from 3 different vineyards: predominantly Marananga (my hands), Stone Well, and Greenock
Light spice, streamline tannins, plushy, fruit-forward, easy-drinking wine. Complex and juicy.
50-year-old shiraz vine blended with a 60-year-old vine Vale vineyard (sand, soil and clay mixed together = better water retention means vines stay plushy, fruit-forward)
Seasoned American and French oak for 14 months
Vines were basket pressed – a good way to get maximum fruit extraction out of the grape – after this put into seasons French and American oak – then blended together.”
