The 2006 vintage is the result of a contrasting climate. During this extraordinary year, the weather conditions were shifting from one extreme to the other, throughout the year until the end of the harvest. Fortunately, in this context, spring and summer were generally hot and dry. A hundred seasonal, at work, day after day, for three months allowed the winemaker to reach the climax of each grape variety and each parcel.
Elegance would be the word that best characterizes this wine. The color is very deep. The first reserved nose gives way to you gently. Mineral notes are followed by those of red fruits, then the terroir with a dominance of freshly roasted coffee beans. Without realizing it, this wine charms you with its incredible complexity. The mouth is like silk. A tannin extraction adapted to this vintage made it possible to obtain tannins of astonishing sweetness. The freshness carries these tannins to an endless length. Great vintage Château Haut-Brion.
